Blood II The Chosen is a beautiful game which is developed by Monolith Productions and published by GT Interactive. Blood II The Chosen is First Person shooting game. Blood II The Chosen is released in October 31, 1998 for the platform of Microsoft Windows. In single player mode the player can choose their character among one of the four Chosen. However major plot holes occur if any other character than Caleb is selected: in-game cinematics are not shown and the story does not develop properly.[citation needed] Blood II gameplay is influenced by the choice of character at the start of the game because every Chosen has different marksmanship abilities, amount of maximum hit points and armor level. Caleb, the protagonist of the first Blood, is the most balanced character, being able to use both firearms and magical means with good efficiency.

The game is divided into chapters, each of which is accessible only if the previous one is completed. A total of 17 weapons are available to player, although he has only 10 positions at his disposal and thus must choose which weapons will be included in his arsenal. Most weapons also have a secondary fire mode, for example one that deals higher damage to hostile creatures but consumes more ammunition units. Several power-ups including invulnerability, stealth movement or increased firepower gives the player an advantage over enemies for a limited period of time.

Utilizing the 3D engine, the player can zoom in and out focusing either on the enemy approaching or an overall view of the field. Duke can crouch, run, jump and slide kick underneath small counter space. The game is organized in 8 chapters, each one having 3 parts. In each part, the player must rescue a "babe" strapped to a GLOPP bomb and find a coloured keycard to unlock the way to the next part. At some parts, the player gets to use a jetpack to fly over large voids or hazardous ground.
